Paw pads crack for the same reason lips do.
Fetch & Fuzz Paw Balm is a moisturising wax for dry, rough or cracked pads. Worked in before a walk it puts a light barrier between your dog and hot pavement, grit or road salt. Used afterwards it helps pads recover.
When it earns its place
- Winter. Salt and cold air dry pads out fast, and cracked pads are painful and slow to heal. This is the season the tin gets used.
- Hot pavement. A barrier helps, though it is not a substitute for walking at a cooler hour.
- Rough ground. Trail, gravel and sand all abrade pads over a long summer.
- Noses too. The same dryness shows up on a snout.
How to use it
Warm a little between your fingers and massage into each pad and between the toes. A thin layer is enough — too much and your dog spends the next ten minutes licking it off. Distracting them with a treat or a walk straight afterwards helps it absorb.
Good to know
Balm helps dry and rough pads. It will not fix a deep crack, a cut or a burn — if a pad is split, bleeding or your dog is limping, that is a vet visit rather than a balm.

Why it works
Pads crack for the same reason lips do
Cold air, road salt, hot pavement and rough ground all pull moisture out. Balm puts it back.
Winter is when it earns its place
Salt and cold dry pads out fast, and a cracked pad is painful and slow to heal. This is the season the tin gets used daily.
A barrier, before the walk
Worked in beforehand it puts a thin layer between your dog and grit, salt or hot ground. Not armour, but it takes the edge off.
Noses too
The same dryness that roughens pads shows up on a snout. Same tin, same fix.
Questions
Before you buy
How often should I use it?
Through winter or a dry spell, once a day is reasonable. The rest of the year, when pads start to look or feel rough.
My dog just licks it off. What can I do?
Use less than you think, and rub it in properly rather than leaving a layer on top. Then give them something else to do for ten minutes — a walk, a chew, a lick mat — while it absorbs.
Will it fix a cracked pad?
It helps a dry or rough pad recover, and prevents cracks forming. It will not heal a pad that is already split, bleeding or sore. If your dog is limping or the pad is open, see a vet.
Can I use it before winter walks?
Yes, and that is the best time to. Applying before you go out gives a barrier against salt; cleaning and reapplying after is what protects the pad long term.
Is it safe if my dog licks it?
It is made to be used on paws, which dogs lick. That said, the aim is for it to stay on the pad — rub it in fully rather than leaving a thick coat.
